Video guide: download your reel, pick rallies, Shorts
One minute, filmed on a phone: where Downloads is, how to save the reel to Photos on iPhone, touch labels in the video, one rally or your own cut of several (Edit), and vertical Shorts.
Uploading from a phone
A phone browser takes files up to 800 MB: locking the screen or switching apps stops the upload, so bigger files go from a computer (up to 5 GB there).
- Record at 1080p, 30 fps. iPhone: Settings → Camera → Record Video → 1080p at 30 fps. 60 fps makes the file almost twice as big and adds nothing — the analysis looks at 15 frames a second.
- A long match? Upload it from a computer, or split it by sets — each part becomes its own match.
- Keep the screen on and the browser open until the upload reaches 100%.
Asked to sign in every time?
You stay signed in for a month — in the browser where you signed in. A link opened from Telegram, Instagram or a mail app opens in that app’s own built-in browser: it keeps its own separate sign-in, and Google sign-in often fails there.
- Open beachvolleyai.com in Safari or Chrome (in Telegram: the ⋯ menu → open in Safari / browser) and sign in once there.
- Google sign-in doesn’t work? Choose the code by email instead — it works in any browser.
Video over 5 GB
Uploads are capped at 5 GB. A bigger file is almost always 4K, a very high bitrate, or a whole session in one recording. Analysis works just as well at 1080p, where a match is about 1–1.5 GB.
- iPhone / iPad: open the video in iMovie → Share (□↑) → Save Video → choose 1080p.
- Mac: open it in QuickTime Player → File → Export As → 1080p.
- Windows: HandBrake → preset Fast 1080p30 → Start (or Clipchamp → Export → 1080p).
- Terminal:
ffmpeg -i in.mov -vf scale=-2:1080 -c:v libx264 -crf 23 -c:a aac out.mp4
Longer than about 30 minutes? Split it by sets first — each set becomes its own match. To record smaller files from the start: iPhone Settings → Camera → Record Video → 1080p at 30 fps.
